Maurice Tillet, also known as "The Angel," was a famous wrestler in the 1930s and 1940s. Despite his blonde hair and angelic appearance, Tillet was diagnosed with acromegaly at the age of 17, a hormonal disorder that causes abnormal bone growth in the hands, feet, and face.
As a result of this condition, Tillet's appearance changed significantly and he came to resemble the beloved character Shrek from the 2001 animated film.
